HOW IT WORKSWhen the toilet seat is raised the sensor package is activated and a light emitting diode turns on to confirm that the sensor is on. The sensor package is always OFF when the seat is down, and ON when the seat is up. The proximity sensor detects an object from zero to 24 or 28 inches (60 or 70cm) from its location on the toilet seat. If the sensor does not detect an object it will emit warning "beeps." This beeping will stop after approximately 5 seconds or when the seat is lowered. If the seat is up, the system is on. If there is no sound the next object entering the room (at a distance of 9-12 feet, or 3-4 meters) is detected and beeping begins again. When the seat is put down the sound will stop. If the object leaves the motion sensor detection area the system will become silent, but will remain on. NOTE: Battery life is about 2 years but is shortened if the seat is left up or the sensor is forced to beep for long periods of time.
